Call for Session Proposals

Collective Growth: Cultivating Meaningful Change

UBC faculty, staff, students and community members are encouraged to submit session proposals for inclusion in Celebrate Learning Week.

This year, we encourage proposals that explore meaningful change in teaching and learning. Celebrate Learning Week provides a space to examine how individuals and institutions navigate transformation—whether through small, everyday shifts or large-scale initiatives. We welcome discussions on:

  • Collaborative efforts that drive meaningful change
  • Interconnected relationships that sustain progress
  • Ongoing commitments that foster long-term growth
  • Emerging initiatives in early stages of development, with the potential to scale

Join us in shaping conversations that inspire and cultivate a culture of continuous learning.

Should you have any questions regarding the call for session proposals, please reach out to Rachel at rachel.lee@ubc.ca.

Please submit a proposal by March 31, 2025.

Topic Suggestions

Below are some topics to inspire your event proposal. These are only starting points, please feel free to expand on them or explore additional directions.

You may also use events from past Celebrate Learning Weeks as a guide.

  • Celebrate Collaborations: Share how partnerships and teamwork have driven meaningful change in your work.
  • Shaping Practices: Explore how institutional priorities have influenced your teaching and learning practices.
  • Collective Impact: Highlight how shared knowledge and collective action can create lasting, sustainable impact.
  • Journey of Change: Walk through the initial steps, ongoing efforts, or lessons learning from projects that have fostered meaningful change

CLW sessions can be held online, in-person or multi-access.

  • Interactive Workshop – offer CLW attendees the opportunity to explore a topic in depth with their peers and to translate their learning into their respective teaching contexts.
