Explore space on scales larger than galaxies, learn about the evolution of the universe from “the beginning” until now, and ponder what some theories tell us about the long-term future.

This is a One Day @ UBC Centennial Lecture. As part of the UBC Centennial celebrations, UBC Continuing Studies is offering 20 free lectures on Saturdays at the UBC Point Grey campus from September 2015 through May 2016. Find out more.

Speaker

Daniel Carney is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at UBC, where he is working on quantum gravity.  He did his PhD at the University of Texas at Austin where he focused on quantum aspects of the very early universe.
