Description: ISGP Ph.D student Dana Lori Chalmers will conduct a rehearsal and presentation of two scenes from her upcoming production of “Two Merchants” (adapted from Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice) featuring the Intermediate Year acting students in the BFA acting program. As an exploration of theatre as a means for conflict resolution, this production will present two different versions of this adaptation; one in which the dominant culture is Arab Muslim and the Shylock character is Jewish and the other in which the dominant culture is Jewish and Shylock is Muslim. The attendees will get to see a sneak peak at this production which officially opens November 10, in the environs of the beautifully renovated Buchanan Courtyard.
