Description: In conjunction with the opening of the Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability, Dr. David Suzuki, distinguished Canadian environmentalist and UBC Professor Emeritus, will present a public lecture entitled “The Global Eco-crisis: Is it too late?”, co-hosted by the Office of the Vice President Research & International, the Provost and Vice President Academic and the UBC Sustainability Initiative. Come join Dr. Suzuki at the Chan Centre for Performing Arts on Thursday November 3rd 2011, 7:30p.m., and hear the celebrated academic discuss the current situations our planet is facing when it comes to environmental degradation and its connections with human society. In what promises to be an engaging and thoughtful hour, Dr. Suzuki will offer insight into the impact of our everyday actions on the environment, and whether there is hope in our future on the global eco-crisis. Dr. Suzuki will also be signing copies of his books prior to and after the lecture in the atrium of the Chan Centre.
