Description: The UBC Faculty Senate has voted to suspend classes for one day during the West Coast National Event of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission to be held in Vancouver, September 18th – 24th, 2013, so that faculty, students, and staff will be better able to participate in the National Event and associated activities. This Strategic Planning Session is an opportunity for senior administrators, faculty, student leaders, and other interested parties to plan for a meaningful engagement with this event, and to think about ways in which awareness of the Residential Schools and their significance can be developed and integrated into curricula, and into the planning of faculties, departments, and organizations. A UBC TRC Strategic Planning Steering Committee will be formed to continue the strategic planning for the event.
