Description: Three graduate students will discuss their experiences doing global health work at UBC in association with the Centre for International Health. Ben Brisbois, a PhD student in the School of Population and Public Health (SPPH), will discuss his research on pesticide exposure prevention in Ecuadorian banana farming. Kendra Foster, a PhD student in the Interdisciplinary Studies Graduate Program, will describe her research on community-based dengue prevention in Ecuador. And Sal Klar, a Masters of Public Health student in SPPH, will discuss his practicum experience on a project involving the occupational health and safety of healthcare workers in South Africa. We invite Undergraduate and Masters students who want to know more about global health research and engagement at UBC, and how to get involved.
