Description: “Students teaching courses? Are you serious?”

That is the often the reaction of both students and faculty members when they first come across the Student Directed Seminar program. A unique learning opportunity promoting student leadership, close faculty/student relations, and creativity, the Student Directed Seminar program is something you should want to know more about! It is an exciting learning opportunity that puts students in charge of their own education. The only one of its kind in Canada, this program allows senior undergraduate students to work alongside Faculty members in initiating and coordinating small, collaborative, forward thinking courses.

Come engage in a lively discussion about the program hosted by students and faculty who have participated in it, or are currently participating in it. With past courses ranging from “Beyond the Dark Side of the Mind: Positive Psychology”, to “Topics in Stem Cell Research”, to “Politics of HIV/AIDS in Africa”, this program showcases the topics students are most interested in, and how courses such as these can help in providing new and important learning avenues.

Come join past and current course coordinators, participants, and faculty sponsors in an interactive dialogue highlighting this unique and exciting program.
