Description: Ever consider a career where you assist in the growth and development of students at a university or college? Did you know that student affairs professionals do this work in such diverse areas as Admissions, Residence Life, Judicial Affairs, Disability Support Services, Athletics, and Leadership Development, to name only a few?

This event will showcase the variety of career opportunities available in the world of Student Affairs though a short formal introduction and presentation, a professional staff panel as well as “speed dating” section that will showcase some graduate programs options for participants interested in pursuing a higher education degree in this field.

It will raise awareness of the diversity of positions that are available within this career choice including: career education, transition support and programming for university students, residence life, orientations, admissions, recruitment, alumni relations and athletics/recreation.

Join us for a glimpse into the world of student affairs from people who are already there. The session will include a professional panel and a chat and mingle with over 20 student affairs professionals to build connections and network with practitioners in the field.

Schedule of Events

12:40 – 1:20pm Panel discussion with professionals from UBC
1:20 – 1:40pm Resume development
1:40 – 1:55pm How to choose a Graduate school
2:15– 3:00pm Speed dating with alumni from various Graduate programs (Canadian and American)
