The Great Pancake Race: Batter Up!

Name: The Great Pancake Race: Batter Up!

Time & Date: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 29, 2009

Location: Koerner Library Plaza

Description: The pancake race is a 4-person team relay race. Competitors run a course of 25 meters attired in a United Way apron over their standard attire. They must run with a frying pan and toss their pancake 3 times; if they drop their pancake, they have to return to the starting line and begin again. Each team member must run the course and the team pancake must remain intact.

Teams representing all areas of the UBC community will compete in this highly competitive team relay race being held to raise awareness of the UBC Community United Way Campaign.

Dr. David Farrar, Provost & VP Academic, will be the official starter and will ensure the International Rules of Pancake Racing are strictly observed.
