Date & Time: Wednesday, October 29, 9:00am – 10:30am

Location: Seminar Room 2.22, 2nd Floor, Irving K. Barber Learning Centre

Description:

In the first of a three-part series that looks at how faculty members are using innovative teaching methods and how this has changed their teaching, Lisa Matthewson and members of the Linguistics Flexible Learning team will discuss how they’ve transformed large classes of 150 students or more into interactive learning environments.
The team will share the strategies they have used in flipping a series of core undergraduate classes and outline how the transition to flexible learning has transformed their pedagogical techniques and curricula. During this session, the Linguistics team will share concrete examples of strategies they’ve used to transform their large classrooms, as well as insights they have gained and the ways in which these experiences have changed their approaches to teaching.
The This Changed My Teaching series is sponsored by the Office of the Provost and Vice President Academic and CTLT.
